Living Word Church of God is a growing multiracial, multigenerational family of believers.  We welcome people from every background and every walk of life who wish to develop an intimate relationship with God through Jesus Christ by the Holy Spirit.

We believe that we are called to minister the unconditional love of Jesus Christ and the uncompromising truth of God’s Word to the whole person – spirit, soul, and body – so that hurting people find wholeness.  By equipping them with the tools of personal transformation, we seek to help them become helpers of other hurting people, thus transforming their lives and their community.  We believe God desires to touch a hurting world through us.

Prayer is central to all that we are and all that we will accomplish; it is the birthplace of all activity in this ministry.  By and through prayer, we know that there is no limit to what God can accomplish.  By and through prayer, God will send additional laborers to the harvest.  By and through prayer, these workers that God is sending will enter into the unique call that God has upon their lives.  By and through prayer, intimacy with the Holy Spirit is developed, which results in manifestation of the Holy Spirit in remarkable ways.

We invite you to visit with us when you visit Charleston, South Carolina.

I currently attend a Foursquare church in Southern California that embraces the full gospel of Christ, including the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the manifestations of the gifts of the Spirit including tongues, prophecy, healing, etc. I am moving to Charleston next year-specifically James Island- and am looking for a church to attend. I am 60 yrs old and was saved 30 yrs ago out of drug addiction and witchcraft. I currently lead women’s ministry, prayer, teach youth ministry, and co-lead our prophetic teaching group. I do not have a lot of time to spend researching and attending every church in the area would like to know what your statement of beliefs is and your mission statement is. Sorry to be so blunt, but I am here for a limited time. I would appreciate honesty regarding whether or not you would welcome me or whether you think I would be better serred attending another church. Thank you, Lynne Allen

    • Sorry for the delay in responding to you. We are a member of Church of God, which is a Pentecostal denomination. Our particular congregation was an independent full gospel church before joining Church off God in the mid 90s. We are a happy little church. We welcome everyone who comes with a heart for Jesus. You can find our statement of faith on the Church of God website http://www.churchofgod.org. Blessings to you in your move! If you have any other questions please send them along.
